ASP and DICT addressing system glitch partly affecting Retirement Pension payment

The Agency for Social Protection is working closely with the Department for Information Communication Technology (DICT) to rectify a system issue, which is impacting the Retirement Pension payment for a group of pensioners who have travelled out of Seychelles in the month of January 2024.

According to the Social Security Act 2010, if a beneficiary is absent from Seychelles for a period of six months or more, the monthly retirement pension payment is automatically ceased until the pensioner returns to Seychelles.

Since the system did not capture the entry date of a specific group of pensioners who travelled out of Seychelles in January 2024, it resulted in them being omitted from the retirement payroll system after the six-month period lapsed.

All necessary arrangements are being made to back pay the pensioners affected for the months of July and August 2024 at the earliest possible.

Both the Agency for Social Protection and DICT apologise for the inconvenience caused.
